A couple of days ago I was given the chance to check something off of my bucket list, by going on a hot air balloon ride. At first, I was terrified and did not know what to expect but once I was up in the air gliding with the wind, feeling the breeze in my hair, I found it very relaxing. A couple of things you need to know before going on a hot air balloon ride are, as with any trip is to make sure you use the bathroom before taking off and also have your sunglasses and a camera with you of course. When I first arrived the workers laid the HUGE balloon on the ground to fill it up with hot air. Another thing I found interesting is they release a small balloon to determine which way the wind is blowing. Then getting the balloon attached to the basket and filled up then we met our pilot. His name was Mr. Todd. He was awesome! Very friendly! Mr. Todd then explained to us on how to get to the basket, which consists of throwing one leg over the basket and the other but one important thing was to have the weight balanced even. Once we were up in the air it was like magic just gliding into the sunset. We were able to take pictures of different landscaping. Also, a view on the city that high up was so beautiful, looked like something you would see on television. After the ride was over we were ready for landing. While headed back to the ground he explained to us what to do such as when we hit the ground to bend our knees and then we would do a little bounce. Then we would exit the basket just as we did entering it (one foot out then the next). My overall experience was amazing and I had the time of my life. I strongly suggest if you haven’t already done so than if you come across a chance DO IT!
